Themed tour on the layout, history and architecture of the Beelitz sanatoriums using the example of the three buildings of the first construction phase

Indoor – building tour – not barrier-free
During this informative 90-minute tour through the cook’s kitchen, the wash kitchen/laboratory and the women’s pavilion A4, you will gain an insight into interesting details about the architecture, technology and history of the Beelitz sanatoriums. – Based on the three buildings of the first construction phase, you will be introduced to individual, characteristic elements of the building design. You will gain an insight into the patients’ rooms, dining and bathing rooms, kitchen and other interesting rooms. Above all, however, you will hear interesting facts about everyday life in the sanatorium from the time of Kaiser Wilhelm to the present day.
This non-accessible tour takes you to numerous relics from the eventful German history of the past hundred years, which have been preserved here in Beelitz as if in a time capsule. Interesting facts from the different periods of use from the beginning of the 20th century, through the time as a Soviet military hospital, to the present day, are presented to you in an entertaining way.
Information about the everyday lives of the patients and how the sanatorium facilities functioned, as well as the reasons for their decay, are conveyed by the tour guide in an entertaining way using these impressive buildings as examples. The architecture of the buildings and their technology are explained in an understandable way using examples, and individual, exemplary elements of the surrounding historical garden design are also presented to you. Above all, however, you will discover exciting evidence of the past for yourself. Of course, you will have the opportunity to take photographs of the buildings, some of which have a morbid charm.
