Experience what was once Brandenburg’s most famous “lost place” at the start of its revitalization. Wander through one of the most impressive expressionist clinic buildings.
The surgery building – myth & modernity. – Go on a journey through time with our guides: opened in 1930 as the most modern lung surgery facility in Germany, the building was the medical heart of the largest military hospital of the Soviet armed forces after the Second World War, before it was (turned) into the “Lost Place” par excellence after 1994. On the first floor of what is probably the most famous sanatorium building, discover the interiors from the patient rooms to the operating theaters, from the historic elevator to one of the bathrooms and marvel at how aesthetics and functionality once worked together.
There is no seating in the building. Helmets are compulsory for all tour participants.
- Price: €12,50 per person*
*Participation in guided tours is only possible with an additional, valid admission ticket for the park grounds of BAUM & ZEIT with treetop path. - Duration of the tour: 60 minutes
- The tour starts at the entrance to the building (south side of the surgery). – meeting point G.
- Please arrive at the respective meeting point approx. 10 minutes before the start of the guided tour. – If you arrive late at the meeting point for the guided tour, there is no entitlement to a refund or cancellation of the booked service.
- Wearing a safety helmet is mandatory throughout the building during the tour. – Safety helmets are provided free of charge.
- Maximum 30 participants. – Participation only possible from the age of 12. – The Children and young people (aged 12 and over) may only participate if accompanied by an adult.
- The tour is not barrier-free.
- Photography for private purposes is permitted. – Photo shoots are not possible during the tour.
- Video recordings are only permitted with prior written consent.
- Dogs are not permitted in the park grounds, on the treetop path or during the guided tour.
- This tour can be booked for private groups via gruppen@baumundzeit.de

You can reach us via the A9 Berlin – Nürnberg departure 2 „Beelitz-Heilstätten“, or the Landesstraße 88. Parking lot 2 is open in winter.
By train:
You take the Regionalbahn Line 7 the route Berlin – Dessau, Get off at Beelitz – Heilstätten station and follow the signs for the Beelitz Heilstätten treetop walk (Baumkronenpfad). After a 5-minute walk you will reach the entrance at the “Pförtnerhaus” (gatehouse)
